3:57 pm

Hey y'all! Remember me? Probably not. Name's Marisa Mockery, and I run Rockman Tanjou with a friend of mine, Elaine. However, Elaine has officially retired from the job of translator, and as we're a translation site, this is a bit of a problem. I've got a friend who's willing to translate Pokemon manga, but that doesn't really help out the Rockman community much, does it?

So, here's a favor to ask: can anyone help me find another translator? These guys are rarer and more valuable than gold online, so I understand if you don't know anyone. But it would be great if someone could give me a hint on where to go, or even better, could volunteer. Mind the translator doesn't have to be perfect--that's what I'm here for, as editor. Thanks!

4:24 pm - ((Visiting Dr. Light, Cartoonverse, locked to those who can get there))

The teleporter did it's job, despite the lack of faith in it, and Nova and Rock arrived outside of Dr. Light's lab. The place was... well, it was different from what Rock was used to, and he blinked at it a lot.

"Is this it?" he asked, sounding uncertain.

11:07 am - E-cafe and otherwhere? ((Locked to Forte and Pallette))

After the conference, Pallette excused herself from the post-signing meet and greet as soon as was polite and teleported back to the cafe.

That had been... yeah. Her dislike of corporations had been reaffirmed. The pompous attitudes, the sense that everything they saw and wanted was theirs for the taking, and the condescension.

It hadn't been the questions from the media that made her angry so much as the answers the Government officials had given them. Pallette had felt herself growing more and more tense with the effort not to snap at them. She hadn't dared to call up the memory of Zero's 'fangirl-improved' armor as a boost for her humor. Smirking at the wrong time could have caused all sorts of trouble. The media didn't know her, and hadn't seen her growing more and more tightly-wound, but X had.

She was thankful for that. After the conference, he'd helped her sneak away earlier than she might have been able to by herself. He, Zero and Signas were used to this sort of thing, Pallette wasn't. The attention rankled, and the politely derogatory questions and comments made her seethe. She hoped she wouldn't continue to get publicity over this. It wasn't worth her sanity.

She managed a tired smile for Forte as she headed for his table.

current mood: blah

6:05 pm - Rescue of Proto ((Open to Blues, Xao, Pitch, Mega, Ashu, etc.))

The room hadn't changed. There was no indication of how much time had passed no clocks or windows for sunlight. Wily knew it had been awhile; his body could feel it.

"Please," he begged, his voice hoarse. "I've told you everything you've asked for. I can give you more, I can give you anything you want. Just stop hurting him."

The man looked at the robot with disinterest. Protoman's breathing was labored. His body was trying hard to cool his overheated systems, but his lungs were breaking down. If they stopped working completely, his other systems would quickly follow. He twitched back and forth as if feverish, even without the device switched on. His eyes were closed tightly. He couldn't take another day of this.

He had screamed bloody murder at first. Begged Wily to keep his mouth shut, even though wave after wave of pain hit his body. Soon he lost the energy to shout at Wily. He lost the energy to watch, speak, or even think. And still the pain didn't stop.

"Not yet," the man replied, turning the switch back on.

There was still one thing Proto could do. He could still scream.

9:02 pm - Pranking Zero ((Currently locked to Pallette, Forte, Zero and X))

Pallette went into the E-cafe at 08:55 sharp, and looked around. Someone with daises....

She had to smile at the thought of what they were getting into. Her, suspect? Noooooooo, not at all! All she'd done was have a little conversation with Gen in the commissary while sitting in hearing range of a few rookies.

The conversation was about Zero's red armor being patched and repainted. The rookies within hearing range had been some of Zero's fangirls.

Upon hacking into the security feeds, Pallette learned later that night that the ones who'd overheard her- and seven more of their friends- had bribed their way into the Armor Labs and stolen Zero's armor.

What the rookies didn't know, and what the security detail at the Labs had neglected to tell them, was that Zero's armor had an auto-recall. His armor didn't have to be in its usual capsule to be recalled. All Zero had to do was enter a command and it would be on his body- no matter where it had been previously.

5:51 pm - King vs. ...Everyone? ((You know who you are))

The Military had, of course, deciphered King's invitation. On the doorstep of Skull Castle they'd met with Wily's stolen army. Tanks, miniature Skulkers equipped with non-lethal missiles, time-detonated sleep bombs. The works.

A third of the forces had already been subdued. A pair of Robot Masters were stationed inside the castle at every entrance he'd been programmed to know, and three that he'd found out about from scanning the information accumulated by Wily's more knowledgeable bots. The pairs were programmed to know each others strengths and weaknesses, which would make cooperation the instinct, rather than the requirement. Such practices would also make them more dangerous. King had activated more than he expected to need, but they hadn't gone outside to face the military as of yet. The automated army was more than sufficient.

King was holed up with the doctors, directing the army and the Robot Masters by remote. If he saw a fight worthy of his attention, he might emerge. There were Robot Masters waiting in the hall to take his place on guard duty if he left. For now, he waited to see what would happen.

6:56 pm - Dr. Light's Lab ((locked to King, Protoman, Pitch, Dr. Light, Dr. Wily, and Ashu))

It was a day like any other. At least, that's what it was supposed to be. However, Pitch couldn't seem to shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. That feeling had been following him ever since he'd found out that his brother, Mega Man, had died.

And he was dead. Pitch stirred the soup a little more slowly. Pieces of Mega Man had been found in the wreckage of the building, confirming that the blue bomber hadn't escaped before the blast had hit him. Nothing could have survived all those plasma generators exploding. Nothing.

Still, Pitch wouldn't believe that Protoman had truly meant to kill Mega Man in that fight. Not like that, anyway. It just didn't... seem like Proto's way. It was probably just an accident, he kept telling himself.

And so Pitch continued making dinner. Ashu and Dr. Light were somewhere else in the house - doing what, he didn't know. He was completely oblivious to the approaching danger.

7:15 pm - Skull Fortress: Open to those who can get there.

"Well, dear boy," Wily said rubbing his hands together gleefully. "You are a wreck."

Bass--what was left of him, that is--was stretched out on a lab table, several panels already open for repair. Wily had him strapped down, for there was no need to take any risks. And you can bet he would give Bass a very thorough check-up, with a little copying of the data here and then.

"When you wake up, you'll be all better," Wily cooed. This was going to be fun.

5:16 pm - Location: Giga City ((Open to all.))

Dynamo faced the assembled bunch of volunteers with his best "Hunter commander" impression. "For anyone who forgot or showed up late, you are all here to help me wreak a little havoc here in Giga City. I don't really care how much damage you do, just so long as it makes life miserable for the Maverick Hunters. I'm not interested in wholesale slaughter of the entire city, and it's probably best if you try not to destroy everything in sight, either, as the loot is part of your promised reward. As far as killing goes, I'm not going to place any restrictions on who you can and can't kill."

He pressed a button on the console in front of him, and a monitor behind him lit up with a diagram of Giga City. Beneath was a short list that read:

*Transportation system
*Energy structure
*Communications system
*Hunter computer systems

"These are four systems that I have identified as having the most potential for resulting chaos. As you all know your strengths and weaknesses best, I'd like you to pick a target you think you're best suited for. I have highlighted and labelled on the map locations of public transportation, power plants, places where you have free access to the Internet, and, of course, the Hunter base itself. If you can think of any other targets, feel free to suggest them. You are welcome to work in teams or alone as you choose. Your reward will be the same either way."

"Once you feel you've caused enough mayhem - and please, this is terrorism, so no ducking out after destroying a single car or something equally pathetic - you are free to return to your own world or to keep wreacking havoc as you like. The 10,000 zeni I promised has been delivered to whatever bank account or location you requested when you applied."

"If no one has any questions, you are free to select your target and go."

((The mun must sleep and prepare for her last Final. I'll get back to you all tomorrow!))

8:51 pm - ((Locked to Blues Wily and Bass))

He waited casually in an old, abandoned construction site in a fairly rural area. Every nerve is his body was itching to fight - he hadn't had enough to destroy lately, and breaking inanimate objects was getting very old. Hopefully, Blues would provide him some entertainment to last him at least a while longer before he went completely insane.

It was just too bad it wasn't Megaman he was going to fight.

10:52 pm - Previously on Rockworld...

((OOC: Rock is in the hospital with Dr. Wily, to make sure he stays there. He was warped there at the end of this thread. Apparently though, he's not the only one that wants to make sure Wily stays put. We figured we'd just do this in a new post to keep the post below devoted to Proto and Mega beating the crap out of each other. ^_^))

Someone else wanted to make sure Wily stayed in the hospital.

Of course, he he also wanted the old man very very dead, but there's at least one way to skin a cat without touching it... And so a very faint mist flowed gently along the high security wing's floor.

Rock however, was rather oblivious to this, at least at the moment. He was still in armor, as everyone knew who Dr. Wily was, and it was no doubt a comfort that Mega Man was there to keep the old man from wreaking havoc on the hospital. Really, how much an old man with a broken arm could do at the moment really remained to be seen. But since this was Dr. Wily, anything could happen.

And so, Rock was standing guard. And hoping that things weren't getting too out of hand elsewhere.

3:12 pm - The Challenge

The day seemed like any other. People bustled up and down the city streets as cars raced past, street vendors tried to catch the eye of potential customers, and commercials flashed across the screens of the TVs placed throughout the city. It wasn't until those commercials were interrupted that anyone realized there was anything out of the ordinary. Instead of the normal ads for beverages, cars, and toys, the famous face of Mega Man stared grimly through the screen.

"Protoman. We have something to settle. If you want to fight me, I'll be at these warp coordinates, 23 1409 287 45, at three o' clock."

9:29 pm - Storming Skull Castle ((Locked to Cartoon-verse types, Forte, and Ashu))

Mega Man didn't pay any attention to who was the first one to warp into the Badlands of his world. They were here, and that was all that mattered. "Even if Dr. Wily's hurt, we'll still have to get back whatever security he has in place and any Robot Masters we run into. Somehow, I don't think Gutsman or Cutman would believe us if we said we're here to help," he said wryly.

"So, what's the plan? Try to find a weak spot in the defenses and sneak in, or break down the front door?"

6:44 pm - Red Lamps ((Locked to Pallette and Forte))

Pallette arrived at the most run down of the 'visitor's pads' in Kilo. It would be closest to Mel's neighborhood.

Remembering what had happened the last time she had come here, Pallette had dressed down in a rather extreme fashion. The black, hooded sweat-shirt she wore was a size too big, and worn shabby, as were the blue jeans on her legs. They had stains which had failed to come out in the wash, and were inexpertly patched where they'd been torn.

Pallette had been to the garage in HQ while wearing these, and proceeded to get severely mussed in an effort to get the right look. There was more than one smudge of Chaser oil on her person. She didn't look much like herself. That was the point.

She stood, and waited.

11:09 pm - A reunion

Mega sighed softly. The lab was actually rather quiet for once.

Roll was out with Dr. Light grocery shopping. Rush was out back, probably chasing his tail. And Eddie was doing whatever it was that Eddie did when he wasn't helping Mega on missions. This was the first truly quiet day there'd been in a long time.

Oh sure, things had quieted down some since Protoman had disappeared. What, with Dr. Wily retiring, and going back to being a semi-legitimate scientist. Mega still couldn't believe it. It did make him wonder what had happened to his brother though. After all, it wasn't normal for people to disappear into thin air.

Was it?

Well, maybe it was if you were Protoman.

10:24 pm - A Little Chat [open to toon-verse types]

The Light Labs building was startlingly quiet with Roll missing and Mega out with Rush, a quiet that the place hadn't seen in years.

Blues padded through the place, still managing to only make the faintest sussurrations on the carpeting despite the fact that he was clad in his battle armor. He was looking for Dr. Light, though when he hadn't discovered the scientist in his work room after warping into the complex, he'd been forced to go looking. Thankfully the layout was much as he remembered from the brief period he'd spent playing at being a hero back in his own time and place-- apparently the dimensions weren't that far off, or Dr. Light just wasn't that imaginative when it came to designing his living space.

As it was, though.. it was time they had a bit of a chat.

8:03 pm - Rescue Mission

"You can't do this, Rock!" Mega ranted. "Do you know how many laws you're breaking?

"Shut up, Mega," Rock muttered as he stuffed the last bomb into his back. "Nobody deserves to be reprogrammed or scrapped or whatever the government's going to do to Protoman. I'm going to save him whether you like it or not, whether it's legal or not! Besides, I'm not going to hurt anyone."

"Not intentionally, anyway," Mega said sourly.

Rock ignored him and stepped out of the lab. He felt a little bad stealing from his creator, but it was for a good cause, and he'd find a way to repay Dr. Light after he busted Proto out of prison. He briefly wondered why Dr. Light had explosives in the first place, then nearly slapped his forehead at the obviousness of it. Dr. Light helped Mega Man against Dr. Wily - of course he'd have weapons.

He glanced at a clock on the wall. Almost time to meet Ashu. He'd better get moving if he wanted to meet her in the parking lot outside the mall.

The Raid Collapse )

7:48 pm - Power Raid (locked to those who'd have reason to be here)

Despite being worried about his brother, Mega Man still had duties to perform back in his own dimension. He had wanted to follow that Danny kid and help get rid of the ghost that was possessing Protoman, but he'd gotten an urgent call from back home saying that the owners of the local power plant needed him immediately. Mega scowled a bit at that. It turned out that it wasn't so much a matter of "there's an emergency, we need you right now!" type urgent, but more a matter of the owners of the plant fretting about the threat of Dr. Wily. Oh, yes, they had good reason to fret, considering the kind of upgrades they were making to the plant and how much energy it would soon be capable of producing, but the blue bomber hardly thought that warranted asking him to drop everything and teleport back home at once!

Unfortunately, there wasn't much he could do about it now. There was no telling where Protoman or Danny were now, or if his help was even needed anymore.

"...so as you can see, we've upgraded our security systems to include the new Zeta Detection program," droned on the engineer who'd been put in charge of explaining the new defense.

Mega sighed and tried to bring his attention back to the presentation. He was here now, he might as well make the most of it.
